About Your Acupuncturist
Helena Kamioka
Since childhood, Helena has been interested in the connection between body and mind. Emotions, whether positive or negative, affect one’s way of thinking, behaviour, and lifestyle, which lead to health conditions.
Being half-Japanese and half-French in Japan, seeking a “good balance” of identity was difficult for Helena in confronting various experiences when she was young. As a child, she was sensitive to a biased way of viewing things and was always trying to find the equilibrium.
In her own words: “By encountering Acupuncture, which is a holistic traditional medicine, several symptoms I had were replaced with mental calmness and acupuncture treatment became something to reset myself, to acknowledge where I am standing, to listen to my true voice.”
Impressed by the art of traditional oriental medicine, Helena decided to become an acupuncturist in 2008 and started her career as a therapist.
Helena’s treatment style is mainly focused on pulse diagnosis and meridian system, which is based on traditional Japanese acupuncture. It is evident Helena’s passion is to alleviate stress or reduce tiredness and seek preventive medicine when working with her clients. With her experience of becoming a mother of three children, Helena is also treating pre and post maternity symptoms and is also a registered member under Acupuncture New Zealand (ACC registered).
When Helena is not treating clients at Nadi Wellness, she enjoys spending time with her family, making pancakes, and cooking!
