Passionate about all types of movement, you will find Kristin not only in the yoga studio, but lifting weights at Industrial Fitness, spinning at Queenstown Events Centre, and, hiking the endless trails Queenstown has to offer.
It took Kristin many years to find the right balance for her boundless energy – previously relying far too much on high-intensity yang activities. Eventually, her endless strive for more, more, more, yang, yang, yang turned out to be unsustainable, and, combined with a deep personal loss, Kristin found herself exhausted, depressed and burnt out. For many months she was miserable and simply couldn’t do anything, then, one day she decided she needed to do something, and, the only thing she could fathom mustering up the energy for was the gentlest of yoga classes. Each yoga class built on the next and soon Kristin found herself moving through her depression, heartbreak, and loss. The teachings of each yoga class began to crack Kristin open and slowly heal, unravel, peel back layers and lead her to discover a new depth of compassion and hope that was not previously available.
Her journey back to herself came along the yogic path and was the catalyst that made her decide to become a yoga teacher and share its gift with the world. She completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali in April 2015 with her guru and world-renowned teacher, Meghan Currie, and has been guiding students through variations of Hatha, Vinyasa, Slow Flow and Yin yoga since.
Her goal for each class is to bring forth a practice that is fun, challenging, mindful, juicy and self-loving. Kristin can’t wait to see you on the mat.
