What I love the most about Yoga is the sense of Oneness always encouraging me to be the best version of myself. It reminds me to be present, aware and mindful.
Originally from Brazil, I have a long love story with New Zealand. I arrived in Queenstown in 2004, intending to only stay for 6 months but that then turned into 3 years! Here is where I found my first passion: cooking! In Brazil, I graduated in Gastronomy and worked as a Chef for many years. Then, in 2012 I practiced Yoga for the first time and I immediately fell in love with it. I was certain that I had just started this amazing lifelong Yogic path. It was just what a crazy busy Chef needed to calm her down.
Attending a Teacher Training Course had been in my plans ever since I started practicing Yoga. Only in April this year (2016) though, I finally took the courage to follow my dream and my true wish. So I went to Rishikesh, India, where I did my RYT200hr Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda Massage training. I also completed Reiki course Level 1 & 2 in the Himalayan Mountains of Dharamshala.
Being able to share this beautiful Science with others, helping, facilitating and inspiring their processes through life is something deeply rewarding, it is much more than just a job, it is a privilege and a gift to be a Yoga Teacher.
In my classes I like to focus on conscious breathing, building body strength along with awareness, flexibility, mobility and correct alignment. I also love the spirituality involving the chakras, opening and stimulating them, encouraging the right use of our inner energy towards life, and continuing a Yoga practice off the mat in everyday life.
“The nature of Yoga is to shine the light of awareness into the darkest corners of the body.” Jason Crandell
