Renee Jessup

Yin Teacher Trainer and 200hr Teacher Trainer Assistant

Renee first started practicing Yoga at the age of 14 with her parents, when her mum encouraged her to go along. She had an immediate connection thanks to their brilliant teacher, and her interest was held for a number of years after. Through her University studies, moving to new cities, countries and other challenging life events, she continued to be drawn back to yoga as her go-to to find a sense of calm.

In 2017, at the age of 27, Renee decided to start teaching what she loved the most to others. Her initial training begun in Ashtanga and Yin Yoga, and alongside her love for Vinyasa from the many years beforehand, she believes there is a place and time for all styles of yoga, and that there is a style to suit every-body, any-time. Since her initial 200hour training in 2017, Renee has completed a further 100hour Yin Yoga training, attended the 2019 International Ashtanga Conference, and studied Yoga Synergy’s Anatomy and Physiology course.

Renee believes that our emotions and life experiences are continually stored in the body each and every day. Our Asana (physical yoga) practice helps us to continually release these emotions in order to stay emotionally calm and to be our truest, happiest selves. She believes that when we find calm in the body and mind, we have happier lives and better relationships. Her approach to yoga is summed up by a quote from T. K. C. Desikachar;

“The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”

She hopes to share what she loves, to help people feel healthy and happy, and to help open the journey of yoga up to everyone.
