Renee first came to yoga right here in Queenstown in 2009 when she started practicing under the advice of her Physio. After the injury was long healed, she kept on going, developing a love of both Asana practise and an interest in yoga philosophy.
A sufferer of debilitating hormonal migraines for many years, these began to subside and disappeared completely after that first year of transformation. That was all the excuse she needed to investigate teacher training, to be able to share the incredible healing power of yoga.
In 2011 Renee had the opportunity to attend Ashram Yogas 200hr teacher training intensive in the coromandel; Ashram Yoga embodies a very classical, traditional approach to yoga. Renee studied Ashram yogas prenatal course in 2012.
Renee became pregnant in early 2013 and practiced throughout her pregnancy. She has continued to practise yoga after the birth of her three vibrant daughters, now aged six, four and two. She brings her experiences of three very different pregnancies and births to her pre natal classes and aims to empower mummas to be with asana, pranayama and yoga Nidra to help them stay comfortable throughout pregnancy and to birth lightly and without fear.
“I love working with pregnant mums. Their energy is so beautiful. My classes are an opportunity to really tune in to the body’s changes throughout pregnancy, and allows the women to create space for baby, both physically and mentally.”
