Sandi Murphy

200hr Teacher Trainer and Nadi Director

‘I love Yoga because it helps me to comprehend, transcend and stretch through any blur and fog of what I am not. Yoga clears the way for something new even if it is the simplicity of fresh conscious breath. Yoga helps me to remember to surrender, to be accepting and grateful for all that I have. By allowing for softness in my strength and peace in my power  I am learning to awaken greater joy and deepen self- love. It is such a privilege and honour to share the teachings of yoga. My intention (Sankulpa) is to keep returning to the wholeness that I am, to seek authenticity in my thoughts, words, and actions and to in turn inspire others as I practise to be the change that they wish to see both in themselves and the world.’

Sandi Murphy ~ (ERYT500) Yoga Teacher, Actress & Massage Therapist, is the founder of Nadi Wellness Centre and the Co-founder of Soul Journey’s Wellness Retreats facilitated in Queenstown, New Zealand, and Bali. Sandi has been studying yoga with International Master teachers since 1998 and has been teaching since 2006.

Sandi’s classes are dynamic, eclectic, soulful and flowing weaving together a synergy of Hatha, Vinyasa, mindfulness, and embodiment practices that collectively offer a whole body~mind journey.  This provides students with an opportunity to deepen in understanding and receive new insight by coming into direct and intimate union with themselves.

Sandi emphasises empowering, intuitive, grounding and heart-opening alignment principles and also allows time for restoration, philosophy and moments of stillness. Known for her lyrical prose and poetic storytelling she transports people out of the surface “every day” state, inspiring and awakening them to reconnect to their sacred inner being. She enjoys sharing chanting and personal experience in a lighthearted way.

Sandi co-facilitated her first 200-hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training in 2015 with Tantric Yogini and International Teacher Nianna Bray and received further advanced teachings from her in Women’s Wisdom and Women’s empowerment practises.

She has been teaching Children’s and Teen’s Yoga since 2005. Sandi’s passion for play and the joy it brings naturally attracts her to the energy of children. Likewise, they are drawn to her diverse style which incorporates the art of storytelling, song and classical postures in a way that children/teens can relate to. As a mother of two, Sandi also specialises in Pregnancy and postnatal Mums and Bubs Yoga.

When she is not teaching yoga you will find her soaking up family time, traveling, bouncing out into nature on a hike, skiing or enjoying a jog to the river. Her dedicated daily ritual includes pre-sleep immersion in the warmth of a candlelit lavender bath. Ah, bliss!

Her greatest desire for her students and her vision for Nadi echoes the most peaceful Mahatma Gandhi:  That we ”be the change we wish to see in the world.”
