About Your Hosts – Sandi & Amanda
(ERYT500) Yoga Teacher, Actress & Massage Therapist, is the founder of Nadi Wellness Centre and the Co-founder of Soul Journey’s Wellness Retreats facilitated in Queenstown, New Zealand, and Bali. Sandi has been studying yoga with International Master teachers since 1998 and has been teaching since 2006.
Sandi’s classes are dynamic, eclectic, soulful and flowing, weaving together a synergy of Hatha, Vinyasa, mindfulness, and embodiment practices that collectively offer a whole body~mind journey. This provides students with an opportunity to deepen in understanding and receive new insight by coming into direct and intimate union with themselves.
Yoga teacher and executive Coach that began when she first arrived in Queenstown from the UK 25 years ago.
“Yoga started as a physical practice but has now become more of an intentional practice to quieten my busy thinking mind, to reconnect to my true self. When you come to one of my classes, you’ll find a key focus on breath and mindfulness. I like to encourage students to connect inwardly, to build proprioception (that sense of being in your body present to your body’s wisdom) and to connect to breath because that for me, is one of the best doorways to building awareness and creating greater choice in your life.”

Bali Retreat FAQs
Is it okay for me to come on my own?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it!
We understand that it can feel challenging to travel solo and join a group of people who are strangers but you will find most people in the same boat. What we can guarantee is that you will not feel alone. People who retreat together come together and don’t be surprised if you build new friendships that endure. That is the way of retreat. Not to mention that your retreat leaders are looking forward to getting to know you, connecting with you and making this retreat one of the best experiences of your life!
I haven’t done much yoga but I want to learn, will I be ok?
We welcome beginners who are interested in developing a yoga practice.
The morning yoga is a slow flow (yang practice) and both Sandi and Amanda will offer plenty of options so that you feel comfortable at whatever level you are at.
The evening yoga (yin practice) is more restorative. Think of it as a stretch class where you hold the poses and deepen into the body.
With all of the yoga, we will be encouraging you to do what feels comfortable and right for your body. Your intuition is always the best guide and the challenge is to allow the wisdom of your body to guide you, rather than your ego.
This is a journey all yogis.
Is the food super-healthy? Can I drink wine, coffee?
The food at Soulshine is incredible. We will be eating fresh, organic Balinese cuisine with a western twist.
The smoothies are to die for and you’ll probably find that you want to eat and drink in a way that nourishes your body. That said, your body, your life, your retreat.
This is not a detox retreat so you are very welcome to partake in whatever nourishes you. Soulshine’s promise is, “we have got you covered to suit any craving”. Enough said.
Do I need a Visa?
You will need USD $35 CASH for a visa on entry into Bali (all other taxes are included in the package).
Once you have collected your baggage, you will need to make your way over to the Visa stand in Bali airport. Follow the crowd. If they’re not Balinese, they’re going there before lining up for Passport Control.
